MobileCorp has added UCaaS provider, Access4, to our MSP portfolio as we assist organisations with the shift to cloud-based communications.
The pandemic and resulting lockdowns have demanded a re-think of how businesses communicate externally with customers and suppliers; and internally among employees.
Phone systems, call centres, and distributed worker collaboration tools have all needed to adapt to meet the 'anyone- anywhere-any device' collaboration urgently required.
Access4 solutions allow organisations to shift swiftly and seamlessly to cloud-based communication and collaboration.
Sometimes the proof is in the doing.
At MobileCorp, the rolling lockdowns were the catalyst for a review of our on-premise legacy telephone system. We were managing with call forwarding and redirections but we also knew we were providing a fairly average experience for callers and lacked call data analytics to inform the business.
We have now adopted Access4 Hosted Voice solution, allowing for seamless call managements no matter where our employees are located; and comprehensive visibility and call data analysis.
MobileCorp was already using Microsoft Teams for chat, meetings, collaborative work and file-sharing prior to the Covid pandemic. However, Teams has now become critical to productivity.
,The uptake of Teams, which is part of the Microsoft 365 suite, has skyrocketed due to the Covid remote work shift. In the space of five weeks in March/April 2020, daily users jumped from 32 million to 75 million according to Statistica.

However, Teams while quite brilliant for internal communication and collaboration, falls short as a totally unified communications platform due to its lack of a robust external calling feature.
Microsoft Teams does not have built-in telephony at its core.
Out-of-the box, Microsoft Teams supports the ability for users to make voice over IP (VoIP) calls from Teams client to Teams client, but does not allow calls outside of the Teams environment. For users to be able to call regular external phone numbers, a Microsoft licence upgrade is needed.
Microsoft offers Phone System as its Teams telephony bolt-on and while it does offer some functionality, it doesn’t provide the enterprise-quality voice capabilities that most enterprises require.
Access4 Teams Calling solution supports carrier grade infrastructure via BroadWorks and offers all the advanced telephony features necessary for streamlined collaboration and customer experience.
It’s more than just direct routing. The Teams Calling solution can be customised for different business roles. Collaborative roles may include video telephony and basic call features; while call-intensive roles such as customer support and sales can have access to advanced telephony features and call queues synced across their preferred devices.

The platform also provides extensive call data analytics and reporting.
Access4 has recently introduced a second Calling solution, for organisations who have adopted Webex as their UC platform of choice. Collaborate with Webex brings together cloud calling, advanced messaging and meetings capabilities, all within the Webex app. Coupled with Access4’s PSTN calling capabilities through BroadWorks, Webex is now also a cloud-ready PBX replacement.
